Once the renovation is complete, this space will be open to the public, giving you the chance to enjoy concerts and events right here at WUTC — with our members and supporters at the heart of it all.

Looking Ahead: Exciting Events in 2025

We've got an exciting year ahead, and we're thrilled to invite you to be a part of it.

Here are a few things we'll be announcing for this year:

  • Public Radio Happy Hour
Join us for an informal gathering at a local bar. Meet WUTC staff and hosts, and chat with fellow listeners. It's the perfect way to get to know the voices behind the mic!
  • Morning Coffee Meet & Greet
Want to know more about what goes on behind the scenes at WUTC? Our staff will be hosting a casual in-person morning Coffee Q&A sessions starting in February. It’s a great opportunity to ask questions, share your thoughts, and learn about the making of your favorite shows at a local coffee shop.
  • Live Music Events
We’re bringing the best of Chattanooga’s music scene straight to you. Stay tuned for updates on upcoming live performances around town that we’ll be supporting throughout the year.

These events are designed to bring us closer together as a public radio community and give you a chance to engage with us in new ways. We’re excited to meet you and hear your thoughts on how we can continue making WUTC your station!

Staff Favorites: Our Top Interviews & Moments from 2024

As we look back on an amazing year of programming, we asked some of our on-air staff to share their personal highlights from last year. Here’s what they had to say about their favorite interviews and moments from 2024:

  • Haley Solomon Host, Producer, Program Director
One of my highlights of 2024 was covering the Big Ears music festival in Knoxville. This was our first year attending the festival and we all just had such an incredible time. It is a really great festival with a consistently interesting lineup and variety of venues. Now that we've gone once, we'll never miss it again!

  • Clark Gibson Producer
In 2024, I graduated from UTC then was immediately able to put my communications degree to work at WUTC. My highlight was getting to see Tedeschi Trucks Band and review the show for the station.

  • Ray Bassett Editorial Director, Host, Producer
My favorite interview from 2024 was with Todd Mayo, founder of The Caverns in Grundy County, an hour away from Chattanooga in Tennessee's Cumberland Mountains. We chatted for an entire episode of 'Scenic Roots' about his memoir 'Caveman Chronicles' - on his life story and 'The Greatest Show (Under) Earth

From unforgettable interviews to unexpected moments, 2024 was full of memorable experiences. We can’t wait to see what 2025 has in store!
